Vivian met Susan at the Hobby Lobby and as all knitters do, they started to talk. Susan came to the center with caps for us and has joined our group. Welcome, Susan.
An Allen policeman spots a woman driving and knitting at the same time.
Driving up beside her, he shouts out the window......
"Pullover"!!
"No," she shouts back, "a Chemocap!"

Our mission is to make soft Chemo Caps for sleeping or wearing out on the town. Our project began with the inspiration from Joyce Schmitt and will continue in her memory. Pink Glove Dance
Breast cancer month is long gone, but that doesn’t stop the staff at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore. From administrators to nurses, cleaning crews to surgeons, everyone threw on a pair of pink gloves and got down in the spirit of raising awareness for breast cancer.

November is Pancreatic Awareness Month
November 15 is Picture Your World Purple Day in the United States. By wearing purple on November 15 people can join the fight against pancreatic cancer.PANCan (the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) is helping to spread the word about this silent killer. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States and is the third leading cause of cancer death among 40-59 year old men. Approximately 37,170 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year alone.Every 14 minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In 2004, there were 1,056 cases in West Virginia. Currently there is no cure for pancreatic cancer. In addition to wearing purple, persons can wear purple ribbons, put purple ribbons on doors and car antennas.
